Basically, 'Space Journey Battles' is my own science fiction creation. It is its own universe, independent of everything. Yet, it will reflect my life. I am one of the characters, or, a character will be based on me.
SBJ is a franchise, and I'm starting it.
Funny, just because of the subject matter I am writing on this blog, that I got an android ad. I usually don't get those, but this is a science fiction blog, and will have things referring to androids, robots, spaceships, and all that. Also, lots of space marine combat. I'm going to have to research that a lot, and how it would work.
Science fiction has been a favorite of mine, though it was hard for me to take it seriously for years. I had other things to do, and needed an outlook to inform what my science fiction could be about.
Anyway, I just want to have fun with it is all.
I've got nothing to lose.
Whenever I start anything, I start with myself, and let it go from there. So the character I am starting with is Daiv. I don't know what his last name is, or if he even has one, or if it even matters.
He is a drifter, a loner, and an artist.
He has his own ship, so that would indicate he has financial back-up to support that venture.
Flying a spaceship around the galaxy ain't cheap.
He supports himself with cargo runs and by selling his art.
He is an honest person, just out to make a living, and to survive.
He is born of Earth.
He is the center of SJB.
He is the alternate universe version of me.
SBJ operates in the past, present, and future. I haven't worked out the timeline yet.
Daiv has sex and pleasure androids on board his ship, which some people would think is creepy, but he uses them as models in his art, which is a lot easier than trying to get human females to sit still.
He owns these androids, and in addition to pleasure functions, can also do combat. They also help him to run his ship, so basically, these female androids kick ass.
Daiv is a quiet, private person with a lot going on his mind.
Some would describe him as nice, others as the opposite of that.
In reality, Daiv has mirror powers and reflects other people into themselves. It is difficult to explain.
Despite being born on Earth, Daiv has always seemed to other Earthers to be alien to them, but they could never quite figure that out.
Daiv drinks a lot of coffee, smokes, drinks, and engages in pleasures of the flesh. He has a good time, no doubt about it. But he is also a hard worker, and gets a lot done.
He just hasn't been the luckiest or most fortunate person he had ever met.
Daiv has his share of problems, and despite other people thinking he is odd, he is actually deeply human on many occasions, and feels a lot.
Well, there is Daiv for you.
My other character is Dirk Rompaflash, a variation on Dirk Wampaflash from 'Clone Wars Adventures'. The original Dirk may show up at some point.
There will be fast food restaurants on asteroids. My universe is going to be out there and crazy and off the hook. It will be an adult universe, not necessarily for kids. The Universe will be highly populated. There will be alternate realities, an intergalactic spacebus system, and all kinds of fun things.
There will be lots of wars, because, war is everywhere. Also lots of battles.
'Space Journey Battles' will encompass all science fiction, and when I copy or parody something, I'll just change it enough so it becomes mine.
The title came to me years ago when I was trying to think of something stupid that was not Star Wars and Star Trek.
I just wanted to have fun, and have a good time is all.
With this blog, I can write about it as much as I want, create characters, write out scenes, and basically do whatever I want. There are infinite pages within a blog, so the rings of Orion are the limit.
I am sure as I work on it more, things will begin to take shape, just like the origin of The Universe itself.
The Universe starts with a thought, and then a word.
I've recently become a fan of Babylon 5, so we will see how that influences me. Basically, it is a great show. There is so much to talk about with it, I don't know where to stop, but it is really good science fiction. I like that it always shows just normal people walking around.
That is how it is going to be 1000 years from now. Just normal people living their lives, that is, if The Earth survives for that long.
I've been trying to think of how SJB would be filmed, but it all doesn't matter at this point. I am building my universe one word at a time, and we'll see what happens.
I don't know if it will be any good or not, I don't even care at this point. All I know is that I am planting the seeds.
I plan on having a good time with it, too. Lots of coffee, cigarettes, and booze will be involved.
You only live once you know.
